November 18, 1981: JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS release I Love Rock 'n Roll. It was Jett's second album, her first with The BLACKHEARTS, and 40+ years on and it's sold 10 million copies, cementing her legacy. And when you consider that legacy began as a teen with The RUNAWAYS and continues to this day, she's in the conversation as one of the greatest rockers of all-time.

STONY BROOK, NY â€" Legendary rocker JOAN JETT's 1983 Jaguar made a big move this week.

The souped-up retro ride rolled up on Wednesday to its new home at the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame in Stony Brook where it will remain on display for the next few years.

The car, which was donated by the Long Beach-raised music pioneer, had been on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, OH. Jett got her start as a teen with all-girl rock group, The RUNAWAYS, making hits like "Cherry Bomb," and then later moved on to a solo career. Her iconic solo hits include "I Love Rock n' Roll," "Bad Reputation," I Hate Myself for Loving You," "Dirty Deeds," "Crimson and Clover," and "Light of Day."

Jett's car is expected to be on display in Stony Brook for at least a few years, according to the Long Island Music and Entertainment Hall of Fame's chairman Ernie Canadeo.

The car is also a part of the museum's first exhibit on the club scene on Long Island from the 60s to the 80s, he said.

That's not to say that Jett has a special place in the exhibit.

"There's not one musician that really has prominence," he said, adding, "I mean this isn't about one or two artists. It's really about the era, so looking at the era, there's a lot of artists."

Zebra and a lot of the bands that played the clubs have a presence, according to Canadeo.

The 61st Light Up Night celebration will take place Saturday, Nov. 19, and will include concerts, fireworks, a new house for Santa, a 1-ton Prantl's cake and so much more.

A huge name for the headlining stage, a new home for Santa and all of the traditional favorites are set for this year's annual Light Up Night celebration Downtown.

For the second year in a row, the main events will take place on Saturday, Nov. 19, culminating in a concert on the Xfinity Riverside Stage by JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS, whose hits include "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" and "Bad Reputation." Opening for Jett will be the Mr. Smalls All-Star Rolling Stones Tribute.

"We're super excited for this show," says Zak Szabo, program director at SteelCity Media, home of Q92.9, which will present the concert.

Saturday's festivities will be capped off by a Zambelli fireworks spectacular.

New this year will be a replica of the Highmark tree in the form of a 1-ton, 8-foot-tall Prantl's cake. The cake will be constructed in the Gateway Center lobby and will open to the public for pictures at 5 p.m. on Light Up Night. On Sunday, slices will be available for purchase, with proceeds benefiting the Greater Pittsburgh Food Bank.

Santa will receive a new house this year in the Heinz Hall Courtyard. Pictures are free with a donation to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank, and a Black Santa and a white Santa will be present for photos. Santa's House will be open daily Wednesday through Sunday through Dec. 23.
