Born To Lose, Lived To Win
1945-2015
RIP Lemmy "Lemmy was a good friend-- a rock n roller to the end. Courtesy of Lemmy is one of my personal favorite band memories:
In 1976, my first band, The RUNAWAYS, got to open for Motorhead in London at the Roundhouse. Lemmy was very cool and asked me before our show if I wanted to wear his bullet belt! I sure did! And I wore it, thinking he gave it to me, not realizing he practically lived in it... and he was there after the show, waiting for his belt with a smile! Maybe ya had to be there. He was the genuine article. Lemmy was loved by fans and bands--the ultimate respect to me."
- JOAN JETT*

"When JOAN JETT, Meryl, and I had very few friends in the business, Lemmy was 'all in!' His gang protected JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS in 1979, when we started our journey. There will never be another like Lemmy. We are deeply in mourning for a great man."

Master of Crush-Its: Chew on these custom-made heavy metal-themed Nutcrackers
from: vanyaland.com

low resolution image Not Enlargeable When we interviewed King Diamond last week, we asked the metal legend all the important questions, like his thoughts on the evolution of corpse paint to his cult-classic '80s holiday ripper "No Presents For Christmas." But we missed an opportunity to ask him about some recent developments: He and other musicians being immortalized in a new line of Nutcrackers.

Joining the King the onetime Boston resident Samurai White's "Heavy Metal Nutcracker" collection are Lemmy, Joey Ramone, Ronnie James Dio, Ozzy Osbourne, Keith Richards, Danzig, The Cure's Robert Smith, Cliff Burton, Josh Homme, JOAN JETT, Dio, Alice Cooper, Rickey Medlocke, Freddie Mercury, Abbath, and, of course, David Bowie.

There's even a Dee Snider for your Trump-supporting uncle. (And yes, a few of these aren't "heavy metal", just roll with it).

Samurai White describes herself as "a multidisciplinary artist living in the greater Boston area," and the Nutcrackers are for sale via her Etsy page. They run about eight-inches tall, are painted with acrylics and/or enamel, feature custom kanekalon hair, and heads sculpted out of wood pulp. They cost about $70 each.

"I started making Heavy Metal Nutcrackers in 2012," she writes, "while living in Woodstock, Georgia, and have been slowly producing them from my home base in Boston. I also make portraits of Heavy Metal Bacteria, because there is nothing more metal than a cytokine storm. Unless it is set to Manowar."

Hail, Samurai, hail.

Though most of the items on her Etsy page have been sold, she doesn't mind cranking out a few orders in time for the holiday season. So, uhhh, get crackin'.

She's got a flare for fashion! Olivia Wilde rocks JOAN JETT shirt as she arrives to Jimmy Kimmel in retro bell-bottoms and platform heels
from: dailymail.co.uk

low resolution image Not Enlargeable Olivia Wilde certainly has a flare for fashion.

The 31-year-old stunner rocked bell bottoms, platform heels, and a leather jacket as she arrived to the Jimmy Kimmel Live studio in Los Angeles on Tuesday.

However, the stunner showed her true colours - at least when it comes to musical taste - as she sports a tight JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS T-shirt.

The mother of one-year-old Otis also proved she really has shed her baby weight in the skintight getup.

Olivia, who stands at 5ft7in, kept cool under a pair of dark sunglasses as she wore her brunette locks swept over her shoulders.

Also arriving to the show was fellow actor Matt Damon.
