Hear Carrie Underwood's 'Waiting All Day for a Super Bowl Fight'

Two days before the Big Game, the NFL has released Carrie Underwood's "Waiting All Day for a Super Bowl Fight," Super Bowl XLIX's official theme song.

Stacked high with synthesizers, power chords and banjo, "Waiting All Day for a Super Bowl Fight" is a reworked version of NBC's Sunday Night Football theme, which Underwood began singing during the 2013 season. Previous Sunday Night Football vocalists include Faith Hill, who logged six years with the show, and Pink, who originated the theme song in 2006. Although the lyrics tend to change with each season, all versions of the theme song are based on JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS' 1988 hit, "I Hate Myself for Loving You," much in the same way that ABC's Monday Night Football theme was based on a revised recording of Hank Williams, Jr.'s "All My Rowdy Friends Are Coming Over Tonight," from 1989 to 2011.

Hill made several appearances at the Super Bowl between 2007 and 2012, performing the theme song before kickoff. It's unclear if Underwood will also perform live, although the country singer â€" who grew up rooting for the Dallas Cowboys â€" is a self-professed football junkie.

The Top Ten Greatest Female Rockers of All Time

Rock and roll has long been a male dominated world with the occasional woman taking center stage. For some reason, women have had a hard time breaking into this boys club, and while artists such as Sheryl Crow, Bonnie Raitt and Linda Ronstadt have all had successful careers, they never rocked as hard as their male counterparts. However, there have been a few who have bypassed the boys and have proved they can rock just as hard. Here is a list of women who broke down the stereotype:

Number Ten: Nina Hagen. Somewhat obscure, but nevertheless definitely worth a nod, Nina Hagen has been a critical force in alternative rock for four decades. The German-based singer has always stayed on the fringes of popular music. Often called the "Godmother of Punk," she has unapologetically taken music to its limits. After the demise of two bands, Hagen moved to London in the early '70s at the height of the punk scene and became friendly with the Slits and the Sex Pistols. Back in Germany, she formed the Nina Hagen Band and released a self-titled debut. The disc featured a cover of the Tubes' "White Punks on Dope" sung in her native tongue. In 1981, she relocated to LA as a solo artist, signed with Frank Zappa's manager, Bennett Glotzer and released her first English-language album, NunSexMonkRock, which was crafted with a mix of punk, funk, opera and reggae. The album dealt with such topics as religion, drug abuse and motherhood. While she has never charted in the States, she has built a large cult following. To date, Nina Hagen has released 15 studio albums and 14 compilations and worked with the likes of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Martha Wainwright and fellow German singer, Lene Lovich.

Number Nine: Alison Moyet. Another rather obscure artist, Alison Moyet first came to the public eye as a member of Yazoo with Vince Clarke of Depeche Mode. The synthpop duo released only two records before going their own ways, but managed to get one song in the States, "Situation," which peaked at 73 on Billboard. On the other side of the pond, their debut, Upstairs at Eric's, was a smash hit, and three of the duos singles made it to number 3. Since the demise of Yazoo, Alison has had a stellar career releasing seven highly acclaimed recordings. Album sales in the UK have surpassed 2.3 million. Though she has had a difficult time finding success in the States, she's a goddess in her native country. I first discovered the gifted singer with her third release in 1991, Hoodoo. The album blew me away as her incredible voice was stretched to its limits. With little or no help to promote the album from Sony, it would go unnoticed in the States. Her follow-up, Essex, was again a chart topper in the UK, but fell through the cracks in the states despite having the commercial dance number "Whispering Your Name" as the lead single. Her latest, The Minutes, again finds her hitless in the US, but huge in the UK.

JOAN JETT, Rodney Bingenheimer & More Pay Respects to Kim Fowley at Hollywood Funeral

A funeral for producer, singer, manager and man-about-town Kim Fowley, who died Jan. 15 of bladder cancer, was held on the afternoon of Thursday, Jan. 22 at Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles.

Among those in attendance were JOAN JETT, who delivered a heartfelt speech; longtime friend Michael Des Barres, who delivered the eulogy and later tweeted that the ceremony was "transcendent"; Shaun Cassidy and Osmonds producer Michael Lloyd, who shared amusing anecdotes; I'm With the Band author Pamela Des Barres; and L.A. icon Rodney Bingenheimer, who sat in the front row. "All were paying tribute to his selfless, sweet wife, Kara Wright," one guest tells Billboard. "He finally found true love."

A colorful and sometimes controversial character, Fowley, who was 75 when he died, is credited with discovering and managing the RUNAWAYS in the late 1970s. He also released his own music in the 1960s, scoring a No. 1 single with "Alley Oop" by fictional group the Hollywood Argyles.

In the days since Fowley's death, tributes and remembrances have been pouring in from all over the industry. Wrote Cherie Currie, singer for the RUNAWAYS: "Thank you for starting my career when I was a just a child. You were instrumental in so many getting started in this crazy world of music. You are a genius... you are loved. You will be so missed."

It was reported that Fowley had expressed a dying wish to be featured on the cover of Girls and Corpses magazine. According to TMZ, the publication's publisher passed on the request.

Heart with JOAN JETT will be performing at the Bismarck Civic Center March 24.

Ann and Nancy Wilson first showed the world that women can rock when their band, Heart, stormed the charts in the '70's with hits like "Crazy on You," "Magic Man," "Barracuda," "Straight On" and more.

They were the first women in rock to not only lead the band, but write their songs and play instruments too.

Heart continued topping the charts through the '80's and '90's with hits like "These Dreams," "Alone," "What About Love," "If Looks Could Kill," and "Never".

They have been inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame and had multiple Grammy nominations.

JOAN JETT, has been called the "Queen of Rock N Roll" and was also an inductee in the 2015 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame.

When she was 15 she co-founded the RUNAWAYS, the pioneering all-girl punk quintet, and later became the leader of the hard-rock band BLACKHEARTS.

She's had eight platinum and gold albums and nine Top 40 singles, including the classics "Bad Reputation," "I Love Rock 'N' Roll," "I Hate Myself For Loving You" and "Crimson and Clover."

GRAND RAPIDS, MI - A pair of Rock 'n' Roll Hall of Fame acts will stop by Van Andel Arena. Classic rockers Heart, with opening act JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS, will perform at 8 p.m. March 28, 2015.

Tickets are $75, $45, $35 and $20, and go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24 via Ticketmaster. There is an eight-ticket limit. A Heart fan club presale will begin at 10 a.m. Jan. 20, with a four-ticket limit.

Heart, featuring founders and core members Ann and Nancy Wilson, has been active for 40 years, selling more than 20 million albums in the U.S. The group is known for its hard-rocking 1970s hits "Barracuda" and "Magic Man," as well as its '80s comeback singles "What About Love," "Who Will You Run To" and others. "Fanatic" is Heart's most recent album, released in 2012.

Jett is the most successful former member of '70s all-girl group The RUNAWAYS, scoring a number of hits as a solo act in the '80s: "I Love Rock 'n' Roll," "Crimson and Clover," "Bad Reputation" and "I Hate Myself for Loving You." She released her 13th studio record, "Unvarnished," in 2013.

Kim Fowley, RUNAWAYS Producer and L.A. Rock Icon, Dead at 75

RUNAWAYS producer and notorious L.A. music legend Kim Fowley has died. In recent months, he had been undergoing cancer treatments, though no cause of death has been announced. He was 75.

Charismatic and eccentric, Fowley is best remembered as the record producer for the all-female rock group the RUNAWAYS. He introduced JOAN JETT, who was 15 at the time, to teenage drummer Sandy West and helped them find frontwoman Cherie Currie, lead guitarist Lita Ford and bassist Jackie Fox. He produced the band's 1976 self-titled debut and co-wrote the band's biggest hit, the punkish "Cherry Bomb," with Jett. He also co-produced the following year's Queens of Noise and helmed the same year's Waitin' for the Night.

Fowley was born in 1939 to Singin' in the Rain actor Douglas Fowley and actress Shelby Payne and grew up in Los Angeles and around southern California. After a bout with polio in 1957, he began a career in the music industry, producing his first single â€" the Renegades' "Charge" â€" in 1959. In the Sixties, worked with Paul Revere and the Raiders, the Seeds and Gene Vincent, among others, as well as launching his own solo career; his 1968 LP Outrageous, Fowley's third, was the only one to chart in the U.S. Fowley closed out the Sixties by MCing John Lennon's performance at the Toronto Rock and Roll Revival, where he asked the audience to hold up its cigarette lighters, arguably starting the concert fad.

The Seventies found Fowley working with the Modern Lovers, Blue Cheer and Helen Reddy. He also co-wrote songs on Kiss' hit Destroyer and a "Escape" on Alice Cooper's Welcome to My Nightmare. Fowley and the RUNAWAYS severed their ties in 1977, after which he set out to find another group he could market as a novelty. Although he worked with a few groups over the ensuing decades and continued to put out his own solo LPs, none reached the success or notoriety of the RUNAWAYS.

In the 2000s, he tried his hands at experimental film, and in 2012, he won a special jury prize for innovation and audaciousness at the Melbourne Underground Film Festival for his films Golden Road to Nowhere and BlackRoomDoom. In 2014, Fowley made an appearance in Beyoncé's "Haunted" video.

What charity do you support?
Farm Sanctuary.

Why do you have a passion for this one in particular, is there a personal tie?
There is a personal tie because I love animals, and feel a connection with them. I became aware of Farm Sanctuary’s work and wanted to help. Farm Sanctuary has 2 farms where they bring the animals they rescue. One is in upstate New York and one is in California. I just went to visit overnight in New York, and it was an incredible experience! I met my namesake, Joan the pig! I really enjoyed meeting all the animals. I highly recommend the experience!

Is there a particular way you would want to encourage readers to be involved?
To become vegetarian, or vegan. I am vegetarian, I have fluctuated between the two, but my goal is to be vegan. It helps the animals and the earth.

Dates include March 18 in Manakato, Minnestoa, at Verizon Wireless Centre and March 25 in Sioux City, Iowa, at Tyson Events Centre (Gateway Arena).

Presales for the dates begin Tuesday, Jan. 6. Tickets go on sale to the public on Friday, Jan. 10.

Jett, who will also spend much of 2015 touring North America as special guest on The Who Hits! 50 Tour, made a connection with Heart when they teamed for charity to headline the Kiss the Sky! The Orca Freedom Concert last spring in the Wilson sisters' hometown. Heart and Jett's team up will precede the ex-RUNAWAYS guitarist's induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame on April 18 in Cleveland, Ohio, at Public Hall. Presented by French filmmaker Juju Sorreli at Poppington Gallery, tomorrow evening marks the opening night of The RUNAWAYS, an exhibition featuring photographs of that iconic girl band fronted by JOAN JETT, and shot by legendary photographer Brad Elterman.

His candid snapshots span across decades, most known of course for his relationship with The RUNAWAYS, The Ramones, and other rock punk icons. The exhibition pays homage to a time when a group of girls from the San Fernando Valley ruled, they were music making badasses, flipping the bird, playing with switchblades, and riding their bicycles, all while sporting the choppiest of layers.

It's been decades since these photos were taken, and yet we're still obsessed with these young, and iconic ladies. We took a minute to chat with Elterman to find out more about time spent with these gals, and why they are still so prevalent today.

Can you tell us about your relationship with The RUNAWAYS?
Well I was one of their original photographers back in the 70's and they were one of the first bands I'd gotten to do a proper photo session with. They just so happened to all be girls which was interesting. Half of them were from the San Fernando Valley, that's where I was from and basically Kim Fowley their producer just entrusted me with the band to take their pictures and hustle them into magazines. So that was kind of my introduction. I was just this 18 or 19-year-old very shy precocious kid.

How old were the girls at that time?
We were all around the same age. I think Joan and I are about the same age and Cherie may be a year or two years younger.

What was it like shooting this rebellious group of girls as a shy young lad?
They just kind of had the moves down and knew how to work the camera. Kim Fowley would say things like "do the hustle, do this, do that, think about selling records!" He said a lot of other things also, but he was mostly saying "do the hustle, work the camera!"
