'Yeah, Oh Yeah': Fans still love Jett's rock 'n' roll
from: LubbockOnline.com
JOAN JETT has always enjoyed a strong core following in Lubbock, dating back to the times she packed the rock 'n' roll club Rox. Saturday night's concert at the Fair Park Coliseum at the Panhandle-South Plains Fair was not even her first appearance on that unlikely stage.
Jett was a last-minute replacement for Stevie Ray Vaughan in September 1990, called in after Vaughan was killed in a helicopter crash.
Saturday night's show, while not her most intense, may be one of her most memorable in Lubbock, if only because she now works her audiences with more than a snarl and a power chord. [more]

from: RockHall.com
As part of the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary Open Road Tour, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum has produced Rock and Roll and the Motorcycle, an exhibit that celebrates the long-running love affair between rock and rollers and motorcycles. Housed in a circular space designed by the New York design firm Pentagram, the exhibition includes original outfits and instruments from a wide range of rock artists, including members of Judas Priest, Steppenwolf, the Doobie Brothers, Aerosmith, Grand Funk Railroad, Alice Cooper, U2 and ZZ Top, as well as JOAN JETT, Joe Walsh, Slash, John Mellencamp and others. A centrally located video wall continuously plays an original film, featuring clips from movies and videos that show the link between rock and roll and the motorcycle, while large album-cover graphics, prominently featuring motorcycles, surround the walls of the exhibit space.
