Every Song In The Birds Of Prey Movie

Birds of Prey features songs that are just as wild and crazy as its butt-kicking heroines. Here's every song heard in Harley Quinn's new movie.
The soundtrack for the latest film in the DC Extended Universe, Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), features songs that are just as wild and crazy as its cast of butt-kicking heroines. Starring and produced by Margot Robbie, directed by Cathy Yan, and with a screenplay by Christina Hodson (Bumblebee), Birds of Prey is a female tour de force, and as such, its soundtrack is stacked with some sensational women musicians.
Joining Robbie's now-iconic Harley in Birds of Prey is Rosie Perez as Renee Montoya, Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Dinah Lance/Black Canary, Mary Elizabeth Winstead as Helena Bertinelli/Huntress, and Ella Jay Basco as Cassandra Cain. Throughout the film, these different women's stories begin to slowly intersect, and eventually, they're forced to team up in order to take down Gotham crime boss, Roman Sionis/Black Mask (Ewan McGregor). He's aided by his right hand man and violent psychopath, Victor Zsasz (Chris Messina), but together, these ladies are unmistakably a force to be reckoned with.
Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) begins with Harley recounting her breakup with the Joker and it's all set to the rather obvious but no less perfect song choice of "I Hate Myself For Loving You" by JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS. From there, the film moves to the club - Black Mask's club, specifically - where many scenes in the film take place and almost all of which feature a song from Birds of Prey: The Album, like "Bad B**ch" by Doja Cat or "Invisible Chains" by Lauren Jauregui. (Note: the soundtrack album doesn't include every song heard in Birds of Prey, just those recorded for the film.)
After Harley overhears her roller derby pals talking behind her back and tosses the tray of margaritas (all while Liquits' "Desde Que" plays at the Mexican restaurant), she gets the bright idea to blow up Ace Chemicals. The stunning shot is accompanied by another on-the-nose song choice, "Joke's On You" by Charlotte Lawrence, that plays as Harley triumphantly struts away from the rainbow-colored explosion. With Harley's character established, Birds of Prey moves on to introducing its other heroines, like Renee Montoya and Huntress in a scene where the former investigates the latter's latest crime - an assassination inside an Italian restaurant set to "Sweet Dreams (Of You)" by Patsy Cline. Meanwhile, Harley is lusting after a most delicious bacon, egg, and cheese sandwich as Barry White's "I'm Gonna Love You Just a Little More, Baby" plays.
Not long after the ensuing chase between Montoya and Harley - in which she tragically loses that sandwich - Harley attacks the Gotham City Police Station to find Cassandra Cain. It's Birds of Prey's first extended fight scene and it sees Harley shooting cops with confetti bombs as she moves through the station to "Danger" by Jucee Froot. The film then jumps back to Black Mask's club - as well as in time because Birds of Prey's story is not linear thanks Harley's scattered narration - where Black Canary performs a showstopping rendition of "It's a Man's Man's Man's World". The film sticks with Black Canary until the following morning, where she rescues an inebriated Harley to "Unwind Yourself" by Marva Whitney in another killer fight scene, before going home to "Collage" by The Three Degrees where she meets the young pickpocket, Cass Cain.
The Birds of Prey plot centers around Cass Cain, who steals the sought after Bertinelli diamond from Zsasz to the song "Sway With Me" by Saweetie and GALXARA. Harley, by this point, has been rounded up by Black Mask's goons, but before she's killed, she convinces Roman that she can get him the diamond. The scene includes a hallucinatory music number that comes when Roman smacks Harley and sends her into a fantasy where she's dressed as Marilyn Monroe's character from Gentlemen Prefer Blondes. The scene begins with a sampling of Monroe's iconic "Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend" before transitioning into "Back At It" by Kelli Wakili and "Bow Out" by Kareema Weatherspoon. Having agreed to find the diamond for Roman, Birds of Prey returns to Harley's attack on the police station and another pair of fantastic fight scenes - Harley fighting the released prisoners as the sprinklers go off and "Experiment On Me" by Halsey plays, and Harley fighting bounty hunters in the evidence room to Spiderbait's "Black Betty". Harley then collects Cass and the two escape to "Love Rollercoaster" by Ohio Players.
In Birds of Prey's final act, the cast of butt-kicking heroines finally come together, and as they prepare for battle against Black Mask's army of hired thugs, Adona's slow version of the Pat Benatar classic, "Hit Me With Your Best Shot", is heard. Once the actual battle begins, though, Heart's "Barracuda" kicks in. While the goons are defeated, Roman still manages to capture Cass and takes off, leading to a thrilling chase scene that has Harley in pursuit on roller skates (with a little help from Huntress' motorcycle) set to "Lonely Gun" by Cyn. In the end, Black Mask is killed, Cass is saved, and the whole gang gathers back at the Mexican restaurant for breakfast tacos and margaritas while "El Vecino" by Sharlene, Lalo Ebratt, and Trapical Minds plays in the background.
As Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) winds down, "Woman" by Kesha plays while Harley and Cass steal Canary's car and take off on their own, leaving the three remaining woman to formally team up as the Birds of Prey. The film then has three songs that play over the credits: "Diamonds" by Megan Thee Stallion and Normani, "Smile" by Maise Peters, and "Bad Memory" K. Flay - all of which were recorded for the movie and can be found on the Birds of Prey soundtrack album.
Birds of Prey features a score by composer Daniel Pemberton (Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, Yesterday) that enhances the film's frenetic energy, but it's the movie's many needle drops that draw the most attention.
