low resolution image Not Enlargeable Millersville University will rock and roll on April 29 when singer, songwriter and Hall-of-Famers JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS perform as part of MU's music event, Hall of Fame Festi-Ville.

The two-day musical event will begin on Friday, April 28 with the Spring Concert featuring rapper and singer Tory Lanez. This event is put on by the Concert Committee. The Tory Lanez concert is only open to attendees 18 and older.

The following day, a series of student rock bands will take to the stage in a show that is open to the public. President John Anderson will also take part, performing with one of the bands.

"It's a four and a half hour event," says Barry Atticks, coordinator of MU's Music Business Technology (MBT) program. "There will be a festival atmosphere in Marauder Courts."

JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS, who were inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2015, will take to the stage later in the night around 9 p.m.

"Last year we had a themed show with Jefferson Starship that sold out," says Atticks. "This year we wanted to play music of the Hall of Fame."

President John Anderson will join students on stage at Festi-Ville. The student bands will be playing songs from over 25 different famous Hall-of-Famers including Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Earth Wind and Fire, Chicago, Stevie Wonder and Green Day.

Hall of Fame Festi-Ville is presented by Rider Hall Productions in Association with Marauder Music Productions. MBT students will help run the entire show from beginning to end. Atticks says this is a great opportunity for Millersville students to get hands on experience in music production. Clair Global of Lititz will provide the audio and teach MU students to run the engineering and sound for all performances.

Two video screens on either side of the stage will show interviews with members of the student bands during set changes. All of the interviews will be conducted by students.

Doors to Marauder Courts will open at 5:30 and the student bands will begin at 6 p.m. JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS will likely perform around 9 p.m. Concessions will be available.

Tickets cost $5 for students and $30 for the general public. They can be purchased at studentservicesinc.com/ticket-sales.
