It's About Time These Haircuts Came Back In Style
from: thegloss.com

low resolution image Not Enlargeable Haircuts are like clothes. There are classic styles that remain popular regardless of the decade such as bobs. There are super trendy styles that barely last a year yet alone a ten and then there are those perfectly good styles that get forgotten about but are definitely worth trying out again. The mullet has been trying to make a comeback at every fashion week. It has yet to gain wide popularity but these other haircuts deserve to be as popular again as they once were.

These are the vintage haircuts you should consider trying when you're bored with your lob:
1. Joan Collins' Thick Bangs And Voluminous Hair, 1969
If you have long hair, all it takes it a few tweaks to get Joan Collins' cut. It's like Zooey Deschanel's hairstyle with a bit more curl. Just add a few face framing layers and a set of thick bangs. When you style your hair, remember to add some volume at the crown.

2. Audrey Hepburn's Asymmetrical Bangs, 1955
Audrey Hepburn's short, choppy bangs might have gone out of fashion because people were worried that they would look like their bangs were a DIY trim disaster rather than an intentional cut. However, if you style your bangs and don't hide them under a hat, it'll be a cute slightly quirky look.

3. Cher's Long Bangs, 1968
Cher has had a lot of different looks but her long layers and bangs from the late 1960′s and early 1970′s is a look that we can all wear, unlike most of those sheer bodysuits. Even if you have short hair, consider adding these bangs to your look.

4. Mia Farrow's Super Short Hairstyle, 1967
American actor Mia Farrow smiles while posing for photographers standing behind a barrier on the set of director Roman Polanski's film, 'Rosemary's Baby,' New York City. She had just had her hair cut into a short layered style by British hairstylist Vidal Sassoon. She wears a floral print shift dress.

Mia Farrow's iconic pixie cut by Vidal Sassoon is often cited as one of the best haircuts of all time. However, it's a haircut that only some people are brave enough to try. Pixie cuts had a brief rise in popularity a few years back but it's time we make super short styles poular again for everyone.

5. Clara Bow's Short Style, 1925
Headshot portrait of American silent film actor Clara Bow (1905 - 1965), known as the 'It' girl, resting her chin on her shoulder, 1920s.

Curly-haired girls, when was the last time you had short hair? When you were a baby? It's time to chop your hair off and not feel like you have to straighten it every day. Clara Bow's short style proves you can have short hair and look nothing like a poodle.

6. JOAN JETT's Shaggy Layers, 1981
The lob is the haircut of the moment so JOAN JETT's shaggy style would be a natural progression. Just add a few wispy bangs and some face-framing layers and you have an entirely new look.

7. Elizabeth Taylor's Short Side-Parted Style, 1949
A studio promotional portrait of British-born actor Elizabeth Taylor, wearing a dress with a lace bodice and pleated skirt, looking up while seated with her jeweled hands resting on the back of a chair.
Elizabeth Taylor's side-parted style is a great compromise if you don't want to chop your hair off into a pixie but want to try something different that your bob. It gets your hair off your face and could easily be adapted for different hair textures.

8. Marianne Faithfull's Face-Framing Layers, 1967
British pop singer and actor Marianne Faithfull smokes a cigarette after leaving the court where her boyfriend, Rolling Stones lead singer Mick Jagger, and guitarist Keith Richards were sentenced for drug possession, Chichester, England. Faithfull wears a jacket, a ruffled blouse and pants with sunglasses on top of her head.

Whether you wear your hair up or down, Marianne Faithfull's full fringe and short frame-framing layers will always look great. If you are a girl who loves full bangs, you need to try this look at least once.

9. Josephine Baker's Sleek Style, 1925
Portrait of American-born singer and dancer Josephine Baker (1906 - 1975) lying on a tiger rug in a silk evening gown and diamond earrings.

You may not want to go for quite as extreme with the defined curls as Josephine Baker but this is a very sleek short hairstyle that's pretty low maintenance. It's also a great hairstyle for showing off your massive earrings.
