JOAN JETT was born in Pennsylvania. She started her career in the RUNAWAYS, an all female rock band, before moving onto a solo career. She eventually formed JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS in California. Joan has also taken on acting and many fans remember her performance in the movie Light of Day with Michael J. Fox. She has also made many other appearances on television and movies.
JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS took the audience by storm. She played many old favorites such as "I Hate Myself for Loving You", "Crimson and Clover", "I Love Rock and Roll". They were supporting their most current album "Unvarnished" and sang new songs mixed in with the older songs.
Joan chatted with the audience between songs. She told the audience this was their last performance on Heart's tour. They will be headlining their own tour starting April 15 and it will run through November. She also spoke about the Light of Day movie and played "Light of Day" from the movie soundtrack.
Ann and Nancy Wilson are part of an American rock band that has been playing music since the 1970's. Ann is the lead singer and Nancy plays guitar and sings. They have been recognized the last few years for their amazing work by getting a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in March 2012. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2013.
Heart played old favorites like "Barracuda" "Crazy on You", "If Looks Could Kill", "What About Love", and "These Dreams" with Nancy taking over the lead singing. They also played some newer songs to fill out the set and added Led Zepplin music to their encore.
Ann and Nancy talked with the crowd between songs. They told an excited audience there were very few woman singing rock music when they started and spoke of a fan who submitted a special letter to them. The song "Bebe Le Strange" was based on this letter.
Heart and JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS thrilled the audience with song after song that truly made it a magical night of music by two musical powerhouses. |
