Motorhead mainman Lemmy has nearly completed work on his solo album, he's revealed.

And even if his recent health woes mean his days on tour are numbered, he has a stack of studio projects he wants to get done, including with his rockabilly outfit Head Cat.

The band recently rescheduled their winter UK and European tour dates for early spring next year when it became clear Lemmy hadn't fully recovered from the illnesses that put him in hospital for three weeks during the summer.

He tells Revolver: "After I get get better we're going to try to tour again. If I can't do that full-on, I want to do another album with Head Cat. And, of course, I want to do a couple more Motorhead records.

"But the next thing I've got coming out is my solo album, which is almost done. There are two tracks with the Reverend Horton Heat, two with The Damned, a track with Dave Grohl and a track with JOAN JETT."

He's aiming to record with Skunk Anansie vocalist Skin before the project, which was begun as far back as 2004, is complete. He says of its sound: "It's not Motorhead; but it's great rock'n'roll."

Recalling his band's cut-short appearance at Wacken this year, which was supposed to be their comeback following his recuperation, Lemmy says: "It was going really good and it sounded really good too. Then I got this pain in my back that came out of nowhere, and it was crippling.

"When you get to this age, stuff starts going on; things would be going wrong anyway, even without my history."

The 67-year-old confirms he's given up smoking and now only drinks wine, and he's bought an exercise bike in a bid to keep fit.

Meanwhile, Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell's All Starr Band will tour the UK briefly next month following their appearance at Hard Rock Hell this weekend â€" and they're planning more shows across Europe in 2014. Catch them at The Garage, London, on December 19; The Crauford Arms, Milton Keynes on December 20; and The Waterfront, Norwich on December 22.
