JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS - SINNER

45 year old rock veteran JOAN JETT has been a major influence for many popular female rockers on this planet such as Courtney Love,Bif Naked,Sahara Hotnights and The Donnas to name a few.
Few artists boast a wider appeal than JOAN JETT,beloved by punks, indie rockers, pop lovers, metal heads and classic rockers - she is a genuine icon with no less than nine Top 40 singles and eight platinum/gold LP's.
Her classic "I love rock'n'roll" album from 1982 sold over 10 million copies around the world and she was only 15 years old when she penned "Cherry bomb" with the pioneers of girl rock The RUNAWAYS!
"SINNER" is her first international album in over 12 years,ten of these songs were originally released on the Japan only release "Naked" in 2004 but the new album also features 4 brand new songs and the music is just like the 94 release "Pure and simple" a step back to her punk/hardrock roots.
It might not be a new classic but with these energetic rockers,Joan is ready to kick some serious butt on her 2006 tour - she sets the level right away with the explosive "Riddles" that was co-written by Linda Perry.
Then Joan and her BLACKHEARTS continues with a strong version of the Chinn/Chapman 70's hit "A.C.D.C" (originally recorded by The Sweet),the melodic half ballad "Watersign" written by Jett,Jim Vallance and Kathleen Hanna do belong on a Best of collection with this Queen of noise.
The highlight of the album is JJ's own "Fetish" which feels like a fist in your face,keyboardplayer and long time partner KENNY LAGUNA has done a good job producing the album together with Ted Templeman on 5 tracks plus Bob Rock on the "Everyone knows".
She can still rock,oh yeah!
