SUPER BOWL SCOOP: Grosse Pointers report Paris sightings
from: freep.com

Rumors ran rampant Friday in Grosse Pointe that the paparazzi-posing socialite was spotted at Talbots (not true) and that Hickey's Walton-Pierce shut down so Paris and her sister, Nicky, could shop in peace (also nope).

And some said she supped at the Hill Seafood and Chop House. Again, no dice. The restaurant's manager hadn't heard that one yet.

But the Pointes remain convinced that Paris is somewhere nearby. Oh, and Beyonce wasn't browsing at Moosejaw Mountaineering, either.

A fleet of celebs is revving up for this afternoon's go-kart race at the fourth annual Cadillac Super Bowl Grand Prix, a private event at the Michigan State Fairgrounds.

Who's going to win? Cadillac isn't playing favorites, so dedicated gossip hounds can make their own odds.

3 to 2: Jessica Alba: Because she's smokin' and she could turn invisible in "Fantastic Four."

3 to 1: Jaime Pressly: Would you want to cut her feisty "My Name Is Earl" character off on a fast track?

5 to 1: Kelly Monaco: Her competitive streak helped her win ABC's "Dancing with the Stars."

7 to 1: Vivica A. Fox: Because she was so tough in "Kill Bill."

10 to 1: Adrian Grenier: HBO's "Entourage" star plays someone who's used to being driven around.

Cadillac is giving $10,000 to the winner's favorite charity. The karts are made by Bob Bondurant, who has a high-performance driving school in Phoenix, and they can reach speeds of 70 m.p.h.

Some nice news for Mike Utley. The former Lion, whose ticket dealer didn't come through for the Super Bowl, says the NFL is giving him two handicap-accessible seats to Sunday's game.

Star Jones Reynolds of "The View" is expected at today's 2006 Gridiron Glamour charity event at the Ritz-Carlton in Dearborn. The buzz is her little dog, Pinkie, will be there, too, sporting a scarf accessorized with a Cartier brooch.

LL Cool J, looking fine in a maroon knit cap and diamond earring, was spotted at a corner table at Andiamo Riverfront in the RenCen late Thursday. LL and crew walked in at nearly 11:30 p.m., trailed by some fans who were shooed away by the entourage. A few minutes later, when another fan came by, LL told him he should come back in a few for an autograph. Yep, the rap/movie star is as nice as he seems.

Detroit Lions Cory Redding, Boss Bailey and Shaun Rogers helped a ground crew wave in a Southwest Airlines charter flight filled with NFL executives' families from Newark, N.J., on Thursday morning at Metro Airport as part of the Super Bowl fun.

Other than that, the three didn't seem breathless about the festivities. None of them is going to the game Sunday.

"I gave my tickets away," said Redding.

Rogers said he won't be there: "No, ma'am, that's a no-no."

Asked who'd win, Bailey shrugged. "Who cares? I'm not in it," he said.

The publicity stunt had Rogers with orange batons waving in the jet at gate A8 of the Smith terminal and all three unloading luggage. The luggage part lasted about a minute before the players walked away, leaving the ground crew to do it. Pulse, a new lounge in Greektown, has had its Super Bowl ups and downs. The swanky bar, which opened in August, sealed a $100,000-plus deal last fall to be the site of a four-day private party. Then a few weeks ago, the event fell apart when the party planner became unreachable, says Pulse co-owner Owen Burke. The upside? The place still has been packed, and Pulse did record business Thursday. "It's kind of nice, because we get to show the bar to a lot of new people," says Burke. "It may be good in the long run." Pulse is having a big bash Sunday; tickets are $60 and $100.

BonBons candy store at the RenCen is finding out the favorite sweet treats of the NFL greats for a future wall of fame display. An exclusive: Donovan McNabb loves Swedish gummy fish.

Real football fans love red meat. ESPN's Jim Rome and former CNN anchor Bernard Shaw are among the glitterati who've dined at Morton's the Steakhouse in Southfield.

Some more names circulating as possible guests at tonight's Playboy bash: actor Josh Lucas, sitcom dad Jim Belushi, mega-producer Jerry Bruckheimer, rocker JOAN JETT, "America's Next Top Model" winner Eva Pigford, baseball great Cal Ripken Jr. and Boyz II Men.

Not every celeb is leaving as soon as the Super Bowl ends. NBC's "The Tonight Show" is taping a segment at Hockeytown Cafi from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. on Monday. Mo Rocca, a frequent correspondent for Jay Leno, will be there. The public is invited to come for pizza and drink specials and to possibly be on television.

Take that, Tinseltown. "Entertainment Tonight" correspondent Kevin Frazier chowed on almond chicken, panko shrimp and petite tenderloin at Small Plates for lunch Friday. Word is he liked the downtown eatery better than some places in Los Angeles.
