Yes, we're talking about JOAN JETT, the singer/songwriter/guitarist and great interpreter of classics such as "Crimson and Clover" and "Roadrunner" who has been a female rock icon for more than two decades.
From her sex kitten days spent singing "Cherry Bomb" with the RUNAWAYS to BLACKHEARTS-era anthems such as "I Love Rock and Roll" and "I Hate Myself for Loving You," Jett has surely earned the right to be called the original riot grrl.
Still a formidable live act - she recently wowed our troops overseas - Jett has devoted energies in recent years to producing bands such as The Eyeliners and doing her broadcast, "Radio Revolution," which is part of The Underground Garage on Sirius Radio Channel 25. |
