JOAN JETT still loves rock 'n' roll
from: sacramento.com

JOAN JETT doesn't just love rock 'n' roll, she lives it. The 41-year-old singer-songwriter-guitarist has been rocking hard since age 15, first with the punky all-female band the RUNAWAYS. Following their breakup in 1979, Jett landed a string of hits with her group the BLACKHEARTS, including "I Love Rock & Roll," "I Hate Myself for Loving You," and covers of Gary Glitter's "Do You Wanna Touch Me (Oh Yeah)" and Tommy James & the Shondells' "Crimson and Clover."

Jett's hit-making ways slowed in the 1990s, but her influence as a solo artist and member of the RUNAWAYS was felt through such all-female acts as the Donnas, Bikini Kill and L7. Jett has also kept a steady touring schedule, and she will perform tonight at the Dixon May Fair with REO Speedwagon as part of its classic rock concert series. (Saturday's show features Sammy Hagar and the Waboritas.)
