FLASHBACK
FLASHBACK is an album fourteen years in the making.
This body of work represents an amazing array of twenty-two recordings, nineteen appearing for the first time in a JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS' LP. This limited edition, 72 plus minutes version is the maximum for a high quality program that can be put on a CD, and the cassette has a bonus track. It is an extremely generous offering by rock's reigning queen.
Never pragmatic, in 1981, Joan gave "Summertime Blues" to rock radio as a gift, and even after it was a top ten AOR track, she didn't want to spoil the gift by selling it at retail.
There's a version of JOAN singing "I Love Rock'n Roll" produced and performed by THE SEX PISTOLS' Steve Jones and Paul Cook, which has never been released before.
FLASHBACK has the legendary performance of THE RUNAWAYS' classic "Cherry Bomb" by JOAN and L7 at the Hollywood Palladium on September 27, 1992.
There is JOAN with GRANDMASTER FLASH on "Black Leather", an eclectic rap collaboration that predates "Walk This Way".
"Activity Grrrl", a tribute to THE RIOT GRRRLS (BIKINI KILL/BRATMOBILE) is a brand new recording.
The list goes on and on: "Light Of Day", the hit title song (written by Bruce Springsteen) for JOAN JETT's movie with MICHAEL J. FOX, is not available anywhere but in this album and has never been on a JOAN JETT & THE BLACKHEARTS' LP before.
The songs are awesome, and JOAN's out to prove something on Blackheart Records. We're going all the way with this one!!!
