Pets: One dog -- Lasa Apso named Suzy. It's really Kenny's daughter, Cari's dog, she named her.
Favorite Joan Jett & The Blackheart songs: Too hard, come on!! Fave over-all LP: Album, but there are way too many songs to pick out as absolute favorite! I love "Frustrated" "If Ya Want My Luv," "(I'm Gonna) Runaway," "Oh, Woe Is Me," "Possessive," "Victim Of Circumstance," "Handyman," "Long Time," "I Got No Answers," and "Bad Reputation."
Hobbies: Sports (baseball, basketball), reading, going to see bands -- both known but more likely totally underground bands, and producing. I'm getting more into art like drawing and painting.
What kind of car do you drive? Custom Jaguar Sports Car -- Sable
What is you most terrifying experience? The break-up of The Runaways and wondering what's gonna happen now? I was real scared.
What is your happiest experience? I've had several, luckily! Hits are great, but touring makes me happiest. With a hit it's more fun!
What is you most embarrassing moment? I've had a lot of them too, but long ago and I don't recall.
What is the most foolish thing you've ever done? Early in my career, letting something else control my life, not noticing my decline, but I did and I'm in control now.
What do you like to do for recreation or relaxation? That's kinda like hobbies. I'm not a beach person anymore, I exercise, cardiovascular stuff (no weights!).
What is you most prized possession? Tie: 1968 White Gibson California Style Melody Maker and 1968 Blond (natural) single cut Les Paul Deluxe (my 1st real guitar!).
What do you like to do on a night out? Have a good meal, go see a band (I don't see too many movies until they're in the hotels) or just hang.
Person you most admire? Ian McKaye (Fugazi) You've gotta know their vibe to understand my reasons.
How would you describe the members of The Blackhearts? Great musicians (stage sound is serious to them and me), fun lovin', but each is an individual.
How would you describe yourself? Extreme, on both sides, sensitive, mostly over-sensitive, severely passionate about my beliefs.
What kind of upbringing did you have? With what you hear today about families -- VERY NORMAL! Mom, Dad, I'm the oldest, a brother, and then a sister. We always had dogs, cats, birds and built snowman, had snowball fights etc. . .
What is your unrealized ambition? I'm not sure yet! I wanna help people, especially kids!
What kind of music do you enjoy listening to? Same as current and past bands, but I listen more to current music.
Any type of music you dislike? I used to dislike some stuff, I still do, but I realize now what I might like, other people hate and vise versa.
When did you become interested in music? Seriously, probably around 11. I rode horses before that in shows!
What kind of musical training do you have? Self-taught, I bought a "Learn To Play Guitar Yourself" an learned just basic chords A,E,D,G,C.
What band would you have liked to have played with when you were starting out? T-Rex, or David Bowie.
What led you to form The Blackhearts? The Runaways had broken up and I didn't want to rush back to girls. The comparison would not be fair to either band, so I went with guys, plus I live to play!
How do you see the future of the band? To keep going until it's not fun anymore -- we'll know.
What would you be if you weren't a musician? The world is my oyster! So many things! But, it's time to help each other and most of all, the planet. Otherwise, no place to live. At all! No Oz, no ground, trees, people, etc.
Message for the fans: As you might know, the 1st four LPs are finally available on compact disc and we're working hard to get out Flashback, an LP that includes "I Love Rock N' Roll" with the Sex Pistols singing and playing with me producing etc. So I know you've been patient. Both you and I have no choice. This is HARD WORK and we're trying our best for you. I still believe the Blackhearts have the BEST FANS and I hope you understand. I love the audience to be close at shows. I think some people misunderstood my last response. I don't mind being touched by the crowd. I don't like people trying to pull me into the audience, digging into my Keds (shoes), etc. I'm doing a fucking show! These people didn't hire me privately to dig in my Keds or have a tug o' war (with a valuable guitar on!) but those people are few and far in between. I Love You! Keep your eyes open 'cause we do gigs workin' out our new songs. We'll see you on the Road! Sweat! Rock till ya drop!
