1990
No matter how large the stage, Joan still likes her audience within reaching distance. Sometimes a problem for me, although it gives the shots a real "live" feel. Good thing I have a background in shooting heavy metal, mosh pits and all! |

1990
Joan always takes a minute to find where I am. After locating me, she'll give me her signature "eye stare" shot of acknowledgement. |

1989 Broadway Era Even though my style of lighting has eveloved from this time period, I still have a fondness for portrait style sessions. |

1996 - Greatest Hits Session
These two are alternate shots for the "greatest hits" CD. I often found that the size of CD's take away from the artwork, because of the reduction in size from the original 12" x 12" LP. I chose these two because they were shots that I like but not chosen for the packaging. |

2004 Stone Pony, NJ Back to black - I came to the show in Asbury Park, NJ to shoot her show, only to find she's once again changed her hair color... |
New York City, 1996 Part of the "greatest hits" photo session. Thommy came up to the roof top and sat for a minute, not realizing I was shooting. Good choice for his new CD cover - thanks Thommy! |

Joan and Doug Needles - You'd be surprised at what they really say to each other during these moments. Doug has a great look - you don't get more NYC than this! |
