JOAN JETT Welcomed Home With Open Arms
from: rockrollandlife.blogspot.com

low resolution image Not Enlargeable Rockville, Maryland native, JOAN JETT was welcomed back to Maryland with open arms on Saturday, June 30th. Ms. Jett was the headliner for the Dundalk Heritage Fair.

Hitting the stage promptly at 8pm, JOAN JETT was clad in a leotard bodysuit that looked like something a member of Kiss might wear, all except for the Vans on her feet! Joan rocked a new song called T.M.I, which sounds like typical JOAN JETT, punk material. Immediately following the song, she went into the chords of the RUNAWAYS hit song, Cherry Bomb. At this point the crowd became alive and I could hear the concert goers behind me chanting the lyrics! This one be one of three RUNAWAYS songs performed this very special night in Dundalk hon...

As the intro for Do You Wanna Touch started Joan asked the crowd what the score was for the Orioles game that was going on. For those of you not in the know, The Orioles are Baltimore baseball team.

Later in the night before heading into the 3rd RUNAWAYS song of the night, Playing With Fire, Joan told the audience a story, "When I was growing up I would tell my friends in school that one day I was going to move to California, and I was going to write songs and play guitar and be in a famous band that went on tour around the world. I never realized just how much I talked about that until going to my high school reunion a few years ago and it kept being brought up".

I guess Joan was right because she did all those things and continues to do them.

If you missed this show, you missed new songs, you missed classics from the RUNAWAYS and all those JOAN JETT songs you love from I Love Rock 'n Roll straight through to I Hate Myself For Loving You. It was great night in Dund--alk for all those pop/punk rockers at heart!
