CONCERTS: JOAN JETT, Kenny Rogers, Bret Michaels, Blue Oyster Cult to headline fair

Kennewick The Queen of Rock'n'Roll will rule the main stage of the Benton Franklin Fair & Rodeo in Kennewick this summer.

JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS kick off the entertainment line-up being announced today by the Benton Franklin Fair Board.

Kenny Rogers, Bret Michaels, Blue Oyster Cult and Lee Brice round out the slate of top entertainers scheduled to appear in August.

JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS will rock the house on Aug. 23. Their rock anthem I Love Rock 'n' Roll hit No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1982.

On Aug. 24, musician and reality TV personality Bret Michaels performs. He rose to fame as the lead vocalist for the glam metal band Poison (known for the Top 40 hits Talk Dirty To Me and Every Rose Has Its Thorn in the late '80s) but also has solo albums, most recently won NBC's reality show Celebrity Apprentice 3, starred in a VH1 reality show and was as a judge on the talent show Nashville Star.

On Aug. 25, country music singer and songwriter Kenny Rogers takes the mic. The longtime performer has received hundreds of awards and honors for his country and pop music work.

The rock band Blue Oyster Cult will perform Aug. 26 to entertain the Friday night crowd. The group's most famous songs include (Don't Fear) The Reaper, Burnin' for You and Godzilla. . And wrapping up the final night of the fair Aug. 27 will be country music artist Lee Brice.

His release of Love Like Crazy was a long-running hit on the Billboard Hot Country Songs charts.

Tickets for the fair and reserved seating go on sale at 8 a.m. April 30 at the fairgrounds in Kennewick. Tickets will be sold from 8 a.m. to noon that day.

Demolition Derby and the Horse Heaven Round-Up Rodeo admission tickets also will be for sale.

Carnival wristbands will be sold at a discount on April 30 only.

Reserved seats for the concerts are $15. General admission seating is free with fair admission.

Concerts are at 7:30 p.m. each night of the fair.
