JOAN JETT
from: GlamMetal.com

low resolution image Not Enlargeable Niagara Falls, NY - Veteran rocker JOAN JETT played a free outdoor concert outside the Seneca Niagara Casino to a crowd who were very familiar with this punk/pop legend's material. Joan, who will be turning 50 in September, played like a woman half her age as she dished out classics, "Bad Reputation," "Light of Day," and the Tommy James and the Shondells original, "Crimson and Clover" that Joan has made famous on her own level. Joan is known for playing a Gibson guitar, but left it behind to sing "Androgynous," a cut off her latest CD, "SINNER."

JoanÕs band consisted of drummer THOMMY PRICE, lead guitarist DOUGIE NEEDLES, and bass player Enzo. Half way through their set I was thinking that Enzo seemed less than thrilled to be there. All of a sudden, a birthday cake was brought out and given to him as it was his birthday. Hell, if it was my birthday, maybe I would have wanted to be somewhere else too! Well duty called and the band did sound great minus some sound difficulties here and there.ÊJoan looked amazing and her voice has held steady after all of these years. She put on a great show even though she had a double dose of shows at 4pm and 8pm the next day at the Syracuse State Fair. Joan will be releasing a new greatest hits CD including a couple of new tracks sometime this fall.

We would like to thank Susan Blond Inc. and BLACKHEART RECORDS for the privilege to cover this show. For more info on Joan, go to www.Joanjett.com. For those Joan fans who can't get enough of her, a couple of years ago we sat down with Joan's long time collaborator KENNY LAGUNA.
