Aerosmith bringing '07 tour to Paso fair

Classic rock band Aerosmith will perform at the California Mid-State Fair in Paso Robles this summer as part of its 2007 world tour. Country music stars Martina McBride and Phil Vassar are also part of the musical entertainment planned for the fair, it was announced Friday night.
The announcements were made by marketing director Tom Keffury at the annual fair board of directors’ dinner at the fairgrounds.
This year’s Mid-State Fair will run from July 25 to Aug. 5 at the Paso Robles Event Center. Ticket prices and sale dates have not yet been released.
Iconic band Aerosmith is slated to kick off performances on the 15,321-seat Main Grandstand at the fairgrounds July 25. The group has sold more than 100 million records since its debut album in 1973.
Keffury said that obtaining the Steven Tyler-led band was a big coup for the fair. Aerosmith is scheduled to release a 15th album this spring, and the show will be part of the North American leg of the band’s 2007 world tour.
McBride, a four-time Country Music Association vocalist of
the year and Grammy nominee, is scheduled to take the main stage July 31.
McBride’s career includes 21 songs that have made the top ten on the country music charts. She will release her ninth album this April and tour in Canada this spring.
Vassar will perform Aug. 4, following the Country Rodeo Finals in the Main Grandstand. His widely played hits include "Last Day of My Life" and "Just Another Day in Paradise."
Slated for the Fort Frontier stage are JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS on July 26 and Colin Raye on July 30.
The remaining concert performers will be announced at a later date.
