NASCAR Rolls into Main Street, Downtown Dallas with Chevy Speed Stampede
Inaugural Event Brings NASCAR to Dallas Fans

Dallas, Texas - Chevrolet, Texas Stampede and JHE Production Group announced this week Chevy Speed Stampede - benefiting Children's Medical Center Dallas, November 4 and 5 on Main Street in Downtown Dallas. The NASCAR festival planned in conjunction with the activities at Texas Motor Speedway closes each day of the event with a free concert featuring country music stars from yesterday and today along with classic Rock 'n Roll both Friday and Saturday night.

Music is only part of this family event for this first year festival as the thrill of NASCAR rolls into Downtown Dallas during Chevy Speed Stampede. This free family fan event brings spectators the experience of racing up close and personal with interactive tours, show cars, simulators, driver appearances and entertainment with proceeds from the event benefiting Children's Medical Center. Headlining Friday evening will be Texas country music superstar, Willie Nelson and Family who closes the night. In his long and eclectic career, Nelson has found success in country music, standards, gospel and much more. With a career dating back to 1957, his fans range in age and from the world over. Outside the recording studio, Nelson has established himself as a champion for the family farmer with his annual Farm Aid concerts. His Fourth of July Picnics have for the past quarter-century served as a rite of musical passage in Texas. Fans will be treated to Nelson's hits from the past and enjoy songs from his current release Milk Cow Blues.

Opening for Nelson is Lee Ann Womack, a six-time CMA nominee this year. Hot off her CD release - There's More Where That Came From - the follow-up to her 2004 Greatest Hits collection. Womack will perform such singles as "I May Hate Myself in the Morning," "The Last Time" and "What I Miss about Heaven."

Drawing inspiration from the likes of Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Tammy Wynette, Womack delivers a performance full of soul with a voice of fresh air but like the sounds of legendary hits of past.

Saturday evening, Trace Adkins takes the stage performing releases from his new CD Songs About Me. With one of the most distinctive and powerful voices in country music, Adkins promises to deliver a thrilling and high-energy packed show. Adkins' show will be an endless song-list of hits over his 15-year career - including his latest releases "Songs about Me" - the title track and "Arlington" - which pays homage to veterans.

Performing before Adkins Saturday night is rocker JOAN JETT AND THE BLACKHEARTS. Since launching a solo career in 1979, Jett has become an icon in classic rock. The Southern California rocker takes the stage as she performs past hits like "I Love Rock 'n Roll," a hit that still today serves as a theme for the genre of music. Jett will also perform songs from a recent release, "Pure and Simple."

In addition to performances by top recording artists, race fans and festival goers can enjoy comedy acts, interactive tours and driver appearances throughout the weekend. Drivers and times are subject to change, so check www.speedstampede.org for the most recent schedule and event information.
