Radio Infinity sees 'growth' in 'CBS-FM
from: nydailynews.com

ROCKY II: Rocky Allen returned to WPLJ (95.5 FM) yesterday afternoon, six years after he left, and broke out the old "As I was saying..." line.

Mainly, Allen broke out his old "Showgram" personality - friendly, easygoing, droll, a little jaded - and his old "Showgram" sidekick, Blain Ensley.

Since Allen left, Ensley has been a sports guy and a morning sidekick on WNEW (102.7 FM), never seeming quite as comfortable as he does with Allen.

Ensley joked that he'd been "raising alpacas for six years," and as a result, he did have a "really nice sweater."

Allen had a number of guests yesterday, including Rob Thomas and JOAN JETT, but much of the show was the "welcome back" phone calls.

Denise from Long Island told Allen she and her husband used to listen to him on WPLJ in the '90s, then "sort of lost" him when he moved to mornings at sister station WABC (770 AM).

The WABC show was a thorough misadventure all around, which is why Allen told Denise, "We lost it over there, too."

Allen then did mornings in Detroit before coming back here.
