JOAN JETT producer KENNY LAGUNA advises young musicians to follow their muse instead of worrying about what's on the radio.

"If you're following what's on the radio today, you're already eight months late," Laguna said. "The next big thing isn't going to sound like today's big thing. You have to stay with whatever turns you on. If it doesn't work, you've got to wait for it to work. If you think it's great, it'll be there someday."
