JOAN JETT, Springsteen, Bon Jovi sign on for Red Bank benefit gigs
from: injersey.com

Bruce Springsteen and Jon Bon Jovi will be among the many performers scheduled to join Garry Tallent''s benefit concerts Oct. 18 and 19 at Count Basie Theatre in Red Bank.

The concerts, which are sold out, will raise money for the Alliance of Neighbors of Monmouth County, an organization founded by Red Bank Mayor Edward McKenna and Rick Korn, a concert promoter from Rumson.

The alliance was founded to help about 163 families directly affected by the terrorist attacks of Sept. 11.

Tallent, Springsteen''s bassist in the E Street Band, originally planned the concerts as a tribute to Sun Records, the Memphis label that released Elvis Presley''s early recordings. Sun Records guitarists Scotty Moore and Sonny Burlison and drummer D.J. Fontana are still on the bill, but guitarist Billy Lee Riley had to bow out because of a family obligation.

Also performing will be Max Weinberg, JOAN JETT, R&B singer Phoebe Snow, Rex Fowler of the band Aztec Two-Step, Felix Cavaliere of the ''60s group The Rascals, and country-rocker Joe Ely.

All performers are scheduled for both nights. Show time is 8:30 p.m. Each show is expected to last three hours.
